The MSI X470 Gaming Pro Carbon has been tested by us as a successor to the X370 Gaming Pro Carbon. The mainboard looks slightly different from the new X470 chipset and the AM4 socket from AMD. The mainboard is for the latest Ryzen CPUs with Zen+ processor cores and offers all the advantages of new processors in combination with a 400-generation chipset.
The X470 Gaming Pro Carbon may not be the most powerful to set up a PC based on Ryzene processors for AMD, but it is one of the most stylish motherboards available with the current X470 chipset. The performance is slightly lower than that of the same price competitors with the same chipset, but in practice, this cannot be noticed.
The carbon-designed ATX board has complex RGB lighting which can be synced with other MSI hardware. Even extravagant hard disc combinations can be implemented without problems with 8 x SATA and 2 x M.2. The PCI expansion slots are the only drought: two PCIe x16 and two PCIe x1 should still be more than enough for most ideas on PCs.
